This Quarter.

This quarter was okay. I didn't like the project when we took pictures of certain things like the Eyes & Rule of thirds and stuff. But, I did like the project with the ABC Mixbook and the lyrics video. I think it's fun because we got to pick a song then put lyrics to it. I didn't know how to use a lot of the things we did though, I liked the programs that we did the projects through. The Moviemaker program I didn't really know how to use but now I understand it pretty well. I don't really like using powerpoint that much because it kind of gets old after using it for so many years. I'm glad we used the moviemaker & not powerpoint again. I liked getting to take pictures because it gave us a break from always doing work in class and writing all of the time. We actually got to talk to our friends while doing something productive. I don't know what else to write but I think that I learned more this quarter, and overall, the quarter was pretty good.

What Is a Computer?

Tigers have stripes and they are black. They eat other animals because they are carnivores. They are pretty fast runners and could most likely outrun you. Our school mascot is a tiger, we are the Festus Tigers. Cool right? Yeah... I know. That is all I have to type today.

Neverland.

There were seven doors to enter through, and they all went to seven places. I decided to enter the second door, this door led to Neverland. When I entered the door, I saw a lot of trees and grass. Everything was so vivid and real; I could not believe my eyes. I heard a noise, it was directed toward the Ocean and I saw a pirate ship. I started walking towards the area of where I heard the sound. All of a sudden, a young man that was in the air, asked me to go help him save a girl. He picked me up and flew me to the ship. I saw the girl being told to walk the plank by some old pirate. Then, I grabbed a sword from the ship that I saw, and distracted the men. They all started to comes towards me, and the man named Peter Pan saved the young woman.

I am Candy

All of a sudden, I was being dumped into a big, orange bowl. I am kind of glad, considering I've been stuck in that same bag since the end of September. I see all around me, different pieces of candy... Some like me, and some not. I saw Hersheys, Snickers, Twix, and Milky Ways everywhere. All chatting about how much they hated being dumped into this bowl. Around the home I was in were decorations and orange and black of all kinds. Well, we all know this is Halloween, and once the trick or treating begins, I'm going to get eaten alive. So, it is now six o'clock and the trick or treating has started. One by one, each piece around me gets taken, all of them screaming as they are picked. Then, a little boy with a Scream mask on picked me up, and before I knew it, I was transferred to soome weird trick or treating bag. A few hours later, I knew my fate was coming. Goodbye.

Guns

I don't think they should take the right of having guns away from us. This is because some people need guns for protection. You never know when somebody could break into your home in the middle of the night, or you could be in trouble somewhere where you cannot find or call for help. Even though this man chose to kill his girlfriend and himself, it was his choice. It's the laws option to choose whether or not to take guns away but if it were my option, I would not. Many people would be furious with this choice considering a ton of people carry handguns. Either way it goes, people are still going to find a way to get a gun, and things like this crime are still going to be committed.

Choir Trip

Our concert choir is going to UMSL tomorrow. I am really excited and have a feeling that we are going to do really good. Everything that we've been working on in choir has been getting really good, and all the pieces of music are coming together. Plus, The ride up there is going to be fun because I'm sitting by Brittany on the bus. I get to miss a whole day of school, that sounds good to me. Even though I still have to make up all the work that I missed, which I have to get today. Mr. Z seems to be pretty pumped about this too because he feels like our choir is really good, which I think it is too. Tomorrow we get to go sing at UMSL and students that are there for learning to be choir teachers are going to judge us. This should be a fun trip.

Thanksgiving Ruined

For my first Thanksgiving as host, I bought the biggest turkey they had in the store. I got home and prepared it as I usually would. As I was waiting for it too cook, I decided I might as well do some cleaning. I swept the floor and then decided that I was really thirsty. All we had to drink was water, so I figured since the turkey was still cooking I should go out to the grocery store and buy some drinks. My sister that was coming over for Thanksgiving requested to have some apple juice, but the grocery store was sold out! So I headed to another store and went to go see if they had apple juice, but they didn't. I thought this was crazy but I decided to go to the next store in town; no luck. I realized that I couldn't have any apple juice for my sister so I just got orange juice and drove back home. Then I forgot all about the turkey, and it is burnt! And that’s why we all ate hamburgers.

I Deserve A Day Off

I deserve a day off from school because I always do my work in school. Sometimes, I forget to do my homework, but I usually always do my homework and turn it in. Also, I have school five days of the week, that is way to much. I have to wake up early every morning and get on the bus at 6:30. I think that I deserve this break from school because I am a good student for the most part. I don't really do things that are bad or wrong. A day off from school would be a great opportunity for me to relax for a day and have no homework to do.

Flash Mobs

The article basically stated that there is a good side and a bad side to flash mobs. In some occasions, they can be used for entertainment. For example, if some young man wanted to propose to his wife through a flash mob, that would simply be sweet. On the other hand, flash mobs have been growing into something disappointing lately. Some flash mobs are being used to get what they want, or protest against things that they feel are wrong. Teenagers are starting flash mobs to go to stores and get free merchandise that they want by threatening through song. The London Riot had taken place and that was a huge downfall in the flash mob reputation. This is not a good thing for those who just start flashmobs to have fun. I feel that this matter should be taken not so seriously, for most people are just expressing there feelings through dance and just doing it to have fun, not destroy Government. Will the Governments' see this as disaster or delight? I guess this will entirely be the Governments' call. Governments are starting to think badly; and may feel they need to just say no to flash mobs.

If I were president

If I were president I would change a lot of things in the United States. One thing i would do my best to change would be our jobs being sent overseas. This issue has made many Americans not have a job, and also put a lot of people in a bad financial situation for their families. Another problem I would do my best to resolve is gas prices. Gas prices are much to high and should be lowered. With the gas guzzling cars being made today, most people can not afford gas at the price of almost four dollars. I don't know if this is really possible to do though because the demand for gas these days is high, and we are running out of it. Another thing I would do to help the economy would be to strive for better work flow. I would have more jobs be put out, like I mentioned earlier with the whole "overseas" thing. The last thing I would do, is ensure all equality for people, that's what I would do.

Election.

I honestly didn't really care who won the election. I feel that on both sides of the election, both Romney and Obama lie, because that's what they have to do in order to win. A lot of people didn't want Obama to win because our economy is so bad and they feel that he is the cause of this, but if you really think about it, the economy was already bad to start with when Obama got elected. It is said that people didn't want to vote for Romney because he was planning to ship our jobs overseas and not focus on the middle class. I don't really know what to believe in Presidential elections. I'm alright with Obama being president, I don't really mind him at all. He is a good public speaker, and seems to be able to handle things just fine.

The Fairy

I was walking down the old country road on a breezy morning, and I happened to see something unusual. There was a little girl sitting by old farmer Joe's pick-up truck. The strangest art of this encounter was that this little girl, had wings. Her skin was perfect and her cheeks were perfectly rosy red. The first idea that popped into my mind is that she was a fairy. I decided to walk a little closer to the strange girl, and noticed that she was looking into a mirror. It was a round mirror, one of the ones you would see at some big pageant. As I walked closer and closer I started to realize that she was humming a tune. It was a peaceful kind of sound, like sitting by a waterfall on a quiet night. I finally walked to her, and she seemed startled.

Stacy is my friend, and she is hilarious. Stacy is in my 1st, 3rd, and 4th hour. 3rd hour is conncert choir, and she is a really good singer. I've been to her house like six times but she's only been to my house once. I went to her birthday party and we had a lot of fun there. Everytime I go to her house we end up watching TV; or a movie. She usually has honeybuns at her house, and that is where I tried a honeybun for the first time, it was really good. Everytime I go over there now, I end up eating a honeybun, it's like a tradition. One time I was at her house, running down the street, and I dropped $20 and I could never find it again, I was sad. We always sing As Long as You Love Me together, it's a pretty good song! Stacy is too pretty to hae a boyfriend, Haha (:

I'm a Hero

The cops had surrounded me and my group of friends and we were now all sitting in the police station, gazing at the night stars sparkle. I called my mom, and she said she would be right over with my bail money. I could tell by her tone of voice that I was in deep trouble. I waited for her and dad to come by, and I was the last one left in the station. I tried to convince my mom that I only did it for heroic reasons. If I wouldn't have broke into that gas station, two other robbers from up North would have broke in and stole everything. My mom just didn't believe me.

Technology 1st Quarter

Technology this quarter has went pretty well. I know I increased my typing speed from typing so muc, but I didn't like having to do Typing Web a lot. I didn't mind the timed typing tests, those were okay. My favorite part of this quarter was doing the Biography project, I also liked it when we got to play the games. I like this class because it's not like almost all the other classes where you have to always write on paper. That's not as fun as getting to do everything on a computer, and save it to your own flashdrive. It isn't good when you forget your flashdrive though, I have done that twice this year; Mostly because I leave it in my loker, or sometimes at home. We have had some fun projects and I really can't wait to start our photography lesson, it sound like it's going to be fun. Most of the time, I don't like sitting in a classroom, typing on computers, but this class is better.

Mrs. Debolt is my best friend, and always will be. I remember since we were both two years old we have been best friends. We went to Kindergarten together, and used to share crayons with each other. Once upon a time there were three monsters that lived in the woods, there names were Baby Monster, Mama Monster, and Papa Monster. One sunny morning, Mama Monster woke up and made Papa Monster and Baby Monster some porridge. But the porridge was so hot, that they decided to go on a walk together while it cooled off. Well, There was also a young monster named Goldimonster that was on a morning run in the woods. She was just running through the forests, scavenging through vines and trees. Then, she came across a little cottage by a rock. Goldimonster was curious, and decided to step inside the strange cottage. She walked in, and smelled the amazing scent of the sitting porridge. She decided to try the first bowl of porridge, it was too hot, then she tried the second bowl of porridge, and it was too cold. So she spotted one more bowl of porridge, tried it, and it was perfect temperature; She ate it all up!

Moe

 Moe is one of my good friends. Her real name is Makensie, but almost everybody calls her Moe. She is really funny and pretty. I like her headbands because they always have pretty designs on them. I think she likes headbands a lot, because she has a lot of them. One time Moe and I went to Six Flags togerther and rode almost all of the rides in the park ;Except for the Skyscreamer and Superman, I won't ride those rides. Mackensie has a boyfriend named Tyler, and if he hurts her feelings, Tyler and I are gonna have a long talk. Me and Moe need to hang out again, but I never have timeto hang out anymore. Moe had a bonfire about two weeks ago and I couldn't go. I was kind of sad because I love bonfires and marshmallows. We also went to the movies together three weeks ago, and she was there with Tyler, and I went with Jourdan. We went to the game room after we saw The Possession because I was so scared I had to get my mind off of that movie. The main thing is, Moe is a good friend.

Robbery

There was a robbery just then at my house, nobody was home, except for me. My parents were out on a business trip together, and my little brother was at his friend Max's house. All of a sudden, I woke up to the loud alarms screaming into my ears. I was afraid, I didn't know what to do. I jumped out of my bed and slowly tip-toed towards the door. I cracked the door a little bit, and peeked out, I din't see anything. I stepped out of my room and made my way out into the living room, nobody was there. I heard sirens, and then came the police running into my house. Nothing in my home was left except for one item... My grandmas fuchsia, Maybelline lipstick. Strange that that's all the robber left behind, I wonder if this could be a clue. The officer's think it is a pointless piece of evidence, but I think differently.

Amari

I love Amari, he is my best friend. We have been through a lot together, and we've had our ups and downs, but in the end we always end up being good friends. I can tell Amari anything and know that he won't tell anyone else, because he never has. We have this class together, but we don't have any other class. Last year, we had social studies together and we were partners on every project we did. I wish we had more classes together this year. He has never gave up on me no matter how complicated I've been to him, he always knows how to make me feel better. When I'm sad or upset, he always notices and has my back. We sometimes hang out outside of school like at football games and stuff like that. He's a great guy, and I know he will find a girl that is right for him. I know who he likes, and he always tells me if someone is hurting his feelings or if he's sad. We joke around with eachother all of the time and sometimes one of eachothers feelings get hurt, but we always get through it together. I can count on him to do almost anything for me, and we never let eachother down. The point of this long post is; Amari is my best friend no matter what happens.

Cupid

After Cupid realized he hit the wrong person, he started to worry. He hit a woman he did not like, and now she is falling in love with the man he was supposed to set up with Andrea, who he meant to shoot. Cupid looked down from the building he was on and realized the love spell was already taking place in the woman. She was following him around like a puppy, poor man doesn't know what happened. This man is one of Cupid's good friends named John. John hadn't realized that this strange woman was following him, but when he started to... He knew exactly what was going on. John called Cupid and and Cupid answered the phone in a worrisome voice, "H-h-hello".. Cupid stuttered.
"You shot the wrong woman, now my love life is ruined!" John shouted into the phone speaker. Then right there, John realized his life is now meant to be spent with the other woman named Josephine.

Tech

I sit by Amari and Gavin in this class. I talk to Amari all the time, but Gavin is really quiet. I like doing this biography project better than doing Typing Web everyday; that was really boring. Mrs. Debolt is my favorite teacher because she's my best friend. I like this class when we do fun stuff, and don't type the entire time. I am a pretty fast typer, I can type about 61 WPM. I'm really tired this morning and I'm running out of things to say. I'm going to the football  game tonight, that'll be fun! Um, that's all I got because the timer is about to go off, so bye!

Society Hurts.

This picture reminds me of a girl. A girl that feels that she will never fit in to society. She thinks that she needs to be exactly what society says she should be. She starves herself and has a bad case of anorexia. Nobody knows about this problem, she makes it look like she eats so her mom doesn't know about her common disorder. Her friend does it too, so she figures she can, even though it is so unhealthy. She has thought about going to her mom and maybe even her school counselor, but she's afraid. Afried of being judged by others around her. This girl, is actually very skinny already, but still sees  herself as fat anytime she looks in the mirror. Only her close friends know about her eating disorder, but they have promised not to tell anyone. She gets bullied everyday by the so called "popular" crowd at school, words matter. Bullying needs to stop, and so does society. Local ads and commercials try and say what perfect is... but remember that, you're perfect the way you are.

Six Flags

Six Flags is one of the best places I've ever been to in the world. I have a season pass to go there. I love the rollercoasters and games they have there. My favorite ride is Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast and I like it because of how fast it is, annd how fast it goes backwards. I have rode all the rollercoasters at Six Flags, but I won't ride Superman because I'm too scared to. I usually go to Six Flags with a lot of my friends, and it ends up being a great time. I like to go there but the things at this amusement park are all very expensive; especially all the food there. One time I went there with Mackensie and we payed $20.00 for 2 slices of pizza & four breadsticks. I like to goto Six Flags but I haven't been there for about two weeks; Six Flags is so fun.

Memory.

The memory that I would bottle up and hope I could keep forever and relive would be the first time I hit a homerun at a softball game. Hitting my first homerun had to be one of the greatest events of my life. After doing this I just felt like a weight was lifeted and I didn't have to worry about anything. I heard the crowd cheering and my teammates yelling my name, and when I got back to the dugout afterwards everyone gave me a highfive and hugged me. My coach told me that I had the greatest batting average on the team now too. I felt like the luckiest personn on earth. Then after the game my mom told me I did a good jjob and so did my dad... That meant a lot to me since I was only 9. We went out to DQ afterwards and got some icecream together! That has got to be the most amzing moment of my life. I would definitely relive that moment over and over again.

Down On The Farm

This blog post is about how I went to my friends farm with her over the past weekend. Brittany Jones is her name and she is like my best friend. We tried to build a club house thing on top of a shed but her brother and her friend took the spot first, so we attempted to find a new spot. That didn't work out at all. We were watching Brittany's brother do farm work on the tractor and he said we could ride on the tractor; It was a lot of fun. The other fun part about my time at the farm was that we were walking to a lake and we had to climb over a barbwire fence. Then Brittany almost stepped on a snake, so she ran and jumped the fence. The farm was such a great time, I hope I can go back soon.

Labor Day is a celebration of  the social and economic achievements of American workers. The person who founded Labor Day's name is Peter McGuire, yet some believe that another man named Matthew Maguire. The first Labor Day was in New York on September 5th, 1882. Slowly, the celebration of Labor Day became more popular, it grew throughout the United States. Labor Day is a holiday that should be celebrated by everyone in the country for all the hard work and labor that Americans do every year. Read more here.

The Prison Letter

After reading this mysterious letter I realized I had a friend that was in need. I called the police department and asked them if I could talk to my friend James McDonald. They let me talk to him on the phone limited to 20 minutes. He had told me what I could do for him, and I took it as a surprise. He said that he wanted me to help break him out from the jail cell. I didn't know what to do; I panicked. I thought about a way I could do this without getting caught. I agreed to help him break out from this solitary confinement. I told him that this plan was going to happen. At about 2 o' clock in the morning, I headed to the jail.

I know how to use the internet and a lot of other programs. I don't know that much about computers though. I like to get on Facebook & Youtube with computers. I also use computers to make letters and things through Microsoft programs. Sometimes I even use the internet to look up things I need to know.

I'm interested in learning about how to use the computers to the fullest. I also know that the programs on a computer can be very complicated and I would liike to learn more about that. I don't know anything really about the water cycle, sorry about that.

Girls In India

These two videos are about how women in India are mistreated. Many young girls and babies are aborted or murdered every year. This is because many people cannot afford to have girls. People pay money to go and get an ultrasound to find out what gender the baby is. If it is a girl, people will most likely get an abortion. Getting an ultrasound is actually against the laws in India; so it is not spoken of. Many men struggle to find a wife, this is because there are only 30,000 women for every 100,000 men. That is quite a large difference between the genders. There is a shelter in India that takes care of the girls even when they are babies, even though almost all of them are half dead. This is because the mom took so many medicines to try and kill the baby. There was one mom who tried to keep the baby twins she as having but was neglected for it. Her mom had pushed her daughter down the stairs in hope of killing her.  I do not think that what is going on with gender discrimination in India is fair. These girls need to be able to live a good, healthy life. If I was the president of India I would change the laws and enforce that there would be no gender discrimination against women.

Summer!!!

Today is our last Tuesday, and blog, of middle school. Our last day Friday is a half day, and I can't wait for summer!! This summer am going on vacation to Washington D.C., and Cape May, New Jersey, where my dad grew up, for vacation. Then when we get home I am just going to swim in my pool, and relax. I am probably going to go shopping, and to the water park a lot to. This should be a fun summer, and next year I am going to high school.

Today choir is going to Six Flags to perform!! After we perform we get to paly in the park until 6, which is like 6 hours. I also can not wait to buy a turkey leg!! I think all the choirs will do great! It should be a fun day!!

Field Trips!!!

Since it is the end of the year we have been going on a lot of field trips lately. Yesterday we went to go see Chimpanzee, and then just did stuff outside for the rest of the day. Tomorrow choir is going to Six Flags to sing, and play in the park the rest of the day. Then Tuesday we are going to the City Museum for the A.R. field trip. It should be a fun last 6 days of school!!

Teacher Appreciation Day!!!!

Today is Teacher Appreciation Day!!! I thought I would thank our teachers by listing some of the many things they do for us. One of the most important things teachers do for us is teach us all we need to learn for the day/week/year. Another thing teachers do for us is take some of their own time to grade papers and make lesson plans. Teachers also make sure we are all behaving, and are safe throughout the day. I appreciate all my teachers, and think they all do wonderful at their job. There are so many things teachers do for us that we don't even realize. Teachers do so many things for us, so take the time to thank them today!

Strange Picture

The photo that we have seen looks very strange. The picture shows five people, and one is flying over the others. Maybe the picture is supposed to show that the flying boy is better than the others and that is why he is rising. The picture could also be showing that the flying boy is trying to get away from the other 4 by flying. Also, the other boys look like monsters, and the flying one looks like an actual boy. There are many different ways to interpret this photo.

Our Day Off!

Yesterday we had a day off and it was great! I slept in until 9:30 and then just relaxed for most of the day. I went to Walmart and then got some lunch at Taco Bell. The rest of the day I just sat outside in the nice weather. It was a really nice day off. Soon we will be having many more days like this because there are barley any day left of school until summer vacation, and I can't wait to open my pool. It should be a fun last couple of weeks of school, and a fun summer!

Earth Day-Helping Our Planet!

Yesterday was Earth Day, so I am going to come up with some ways to help the planet. One thing you can do is help conserve electricity, by unplugging your phone charger when you are not using it, turning off the t.v. when done, and having your computers in sleep mode. You could also help the Earth be conserving water, you can conserve water by not taking long showers, not filling the bath tub all the way, and turning off the sink while brushing your teeth instead of leaving it running. Another way to help the Earth is the three R's, which are reduce, reuse, and recycle. There are many other ways to help our planet, so be creative.

Well today is my birthday, and I am very excited!! Today is also my mom's birthday, and one of the first years in a while it is not on MAP testing. Tonight we are going to go over to my grandma's for a birthday dinner. Then on Saturday I am having a bonfire for my birthday party, and we are going to make smoores and roast hot dogs. I am so excited for my birthday and even more excited it is not on MAP testing this year. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

Rewards That Motivate

The type of reward that motivates me is, in school, something like extra points or a homework pass. If it were my parents trying to reward me for something it would be money; I would take money at school to but I doubt that is an option. I would like a extra points in school in case you are not doing well in a certain class they can help you get your grade up. A homework pass would be nice basically because it gets you out of homework.

Easter Weekend!!!

Today is the last day of school before our Easter 4 day weekend!!! This Easter weekend I am going down to my great grandpa's farm Friday until Sunday afternoon. Then when I get home Sunday my friend is coming over to spend the night and watch movies.Tonight me and my friend are going to look at a kickboxing class, and Monday will be my relaxing day before school again on Tuesday. I am excited for Easter break!!

Be Healthy!

It is important to start your day of with a healthy breakfast. Another way to stay healthy is to exercise. Exercising can help keep your mind and body healthy. To stay healthy you also need to eat right because if you don't eat right then your body is not getting all the things it needs to function. There are many other ways to stay healthy to like limiting your time watching t.v. or playing on electronics, so you don't spend to much time indoors and sitting down being lazy. If you don't have time to do much exercising in your day just try to squeeze in some sit-ups or push-ups here and there. There are many ways to stay healthy you just need to be creative!

The Hunger Games Review

I recently went to go see The Hunger Games the night it came out. I loved the movie and thought it did a great job in portraying the book. Even though I think it was a great movie I wished they would have added a few more things, and emphasize more key points. One of the things I loved about the book was how Katniss pretended to like Peeta for sponsors, but in the movie they did not really tell you about that they just showed her falling in love with him. They also cut out some characters I liked in the movie like Madge. Overall, I thought it was a great movie. Eventhough they left out a few things, all movies based on books do.

Ergonomics

Ergonomics are the study of human body's in the work space and how they use their equipment in the work space. Some bad habits people repeat the work space are leaning back in your chair, slumping in your chair, and holding the phone between your shoulder and ear. While people sit at their computer their is a certain posture they should use. Some key posture points are they should sit back against the chair and sit up straight, their eyes should be level with the top of the computer screen, and there elbows and wrist should be level with the home row keys. I did not think our work stations are completely ergonomically sound because you can not adjust the chair height, there are no arm rests, and there are a few more things not sound.

Blurred Images On Google Maps

Do you think it's justified that some images are blurred on Google Maps? Have you ever noticed anything mysterious on the site? I think it is justified if people do not want you seeing there campuses, cites, military bases, government buildings, exc. then they have a right have google maps blur it out. Many of the images that are blurred are government building which people really don't need to be seeing and they have good reason to blur. I have never seen anything mysterious on google maps and think the blurring is okay.
